Retargeting Canvas with Liquid personalization

Hi all,

I need your help please 🙂

I'm trying to set up a Canvas with an email that is triggered after a search on our website/app with search parameters personalization (location + dates).
I created an action-based Canvas with some property filters (for the entry schedule) but when it comes to build the Canvas, Braze asks me to use an "Action-based" component (which is the search event) in order to be able to use the event properties. And after several tests, I don't manage to receive my test emails. Because people don't search a second time so they go on the "everyone else" group.

Thanks,

Adrien

I'd be looking to reduce this down to something very simple for testing purposes.

    1. Can you see the event arrive on the Braze platform?
    2. Can you trigger anything (maybe start with a campaign) using this event?
    3. Using that simple campaign, make sure that you have all the attributes on the event that you're expecting.
    4. Then move up to the canvas triggering something simple before moving on to the full solution you have in mind.

You say they move into the 'everyone else' group - is that a segment of the people that don't/have never searched? How are you defining that segment?

Or is the the 'everyone else' from an audience split?

What are you using the canvas to do?

Could you swap things around a little, and instead of triggering when a search is performed, triggers daily and having 'search performed' in previous 24h as a filter?

  • Hi Adrien ,

It sounds like you're using the "search" event another time in your actual Canvas setup. You should be able to go straight into your message step after the user triggers the "search" and enters the Canvas. Are you using the Action Path step by any chance?

    Best,
