Custom Event

Hi All,

Can we Personalized Email with Custom event Properties.
The Reason why I am asking we cannot see the value of custom event properties instead only custom event count increases when we are passing custom event properties values and checking in search user profile.

In Canvas While we do Action based trigger we have option to perform custom event and we further click on ' Add property filters' we can access the that custom event properties and we have option to filter those with help custom event properties.

I try passing values through postman to those custom event properties but no contact flow in canvas and we can not verify by looking in search user window because over there we can see only increase in count of custom event instead we do not have option to views values for its properties

Can anyone help on this?
Thanks in advance!!

  • Hi there,

A great way to read to event properties sent with a custom event is by creating an Internal Test User and using the Event User Log in the dashboard.

Whenever you trigger an event for a predefined test user you'll be able to "listen" to all events coming in.

    Hope this helps!

Following. I have also encountered trouble using custom event properties in liquid messaging. The learning courses say we should be able to use them when Canvases/Campaigns are triggered by the custom event, but I still am having issues. The only consistent way I have been able to view custom event properties for individual users is by running a SQL query.

You absolutely can personalise with attributes provided on the event that triggers a campaign. (There's slightly more nuance when triggering a Canvas, but we'll leave that for later)

I'd probably create a triggered campaign, output any properties you're interested in and put it live (probably segmented so it will only send to a test/internal/you user) - then you can send the trigger and watch the email arrive.
