Ishan, tell us about building loyalty with or without a program

How can brands get started with approaching the dream goal of building loyalty with their customers, with or without a program?

  • Winning the hearts of your users is no easy task - in fact, getting started is often the hardest part given the countless ways to approach building loyalty. Whether or not your brand has a dedicated loyalty program, I’ve developed a simple, three-step framework to help marketing teams approach building Loyalty: Earn, Deepen, Spread. 

    1. Earn: Start by building trust with your customers by learning more about your users, directly from them - leveraging messaging channels such as in-product surveys to capture their intentions for personalized experiences from the get-go.
    2. Deepen: Stand out from the noise and transform your brand into a prioritized choice by personalizing user experiences - gamification, contextualized milestones, and creative data stories are my recommended strategies here.
    3. Spread: Referred customers are more valuable than regularly acquired ones. Encourage organic growth through community engagement by celebrating users - unlocking exclusive experiences, incentivizing referrals, and crafting shareable content for users to promote themselves.
