Split a canvas via Custom Event properties

Hey,

I have a Custom Event : User Created with an event property account_type : free/paid
I want to split my Canvas to create two different flows for each account_type.

I found a way to split a canvas based on a user property or an action taken after the canvas entry.
But I can't find a way to split the canvas based on the canvas_entry_properties.

Does someone know how to do this ? I don't want to create two separate canvas.

Thanks a lot,

Matthias

Wrote a blogpost for this exact question!

Use Case: You want to send new users down different onboarding paths based on their membership_tier which is a Canvas Entry Property. The membership_tier doesnโ€™t flow in as a custom attribute, so you canโ€™t use an Audience Path (at least, not yet). Read more to find out how!

@AllanHeo , this is very cool mate, thanks for sharing ๐Ÿ™‚ In my use case I have a specific custom event that was manufactured by the data engineering team, much of the heavy lifting in the data logic has been done at their end and the event properties contain a state example NSW, VIC etc and I am consuming this event in my canvas and using the Action Step right way, by filtering by the "state" event property I am creating separate state cohorts that I can tailor messages to. So, for my specific used case the will the Action Path work?

@AllanHeo , also in my illustration above my entry action is based on a custom event prepared by the data team and I use "add properties" to define my action path
