WhatsApp opt-in campaigns

We know that the channel requires customers to collect opt-ins before sending marketing messaging to users. Can you outline some of the best practices marketers should keep in mind for WhatsApp opt-in campaigns?

  • Many of these are highlighted in our WhatsApp Inspiration Guide, but here are some quick tips to get you started: 

    Make sure to tell customers what to expect. If you want them to engage with your brand on WhatsApp, let them know what outreach is coming their way and what’s in it for them if they sign-up. Those benefits might include: Exclusive offers, sales and promos, order updates and transactional messages, or major announcements and reminders. 

    Another tip: sweeten the deal. Consider driving opt-ins by adding an additional incentive, like a promo code, for signing up. 

    Lastly, consider positioning your WhatsApp program as a loyalty of VIP experience. You might want to include offers for WhatsApp-subscribed users only, loyalty perks, or insider scoops.
