As of today May 25th 2026, you may notice a change to the way we're showing "Top Contributors" in Braze Bonfire.
What's changed:
Top Contributors will now be ordered based on the number of posts and comments, they've made. Not the number of reputation points they've earned.
Why the change?
When we were working to re-launch Bonfire, we wanted to make sure that folks that had historic standing in ranks (point based threshold standings) wouldn't have to start from the 1st level in this new Community.
In order to do that, we worked to associate historic users with the badges and ranks they had in Legacy Community. This point based standing takes effect only when the user has first logged in.
When they do, those historic points are connecting with their profiles and showing up in point based leaderboard, even though the actions taken to earn those points have occurred in the past.
How do posts, points, badges, and ranks work in Community?
Asking and answering questions, receiving reactions to your own posts, receiving accepted answers are all actions that are tied to specific badges in Community.
The more of those actions taken, the more awards unlocked and points earned.
You can learn more about all of the Community Ranks from this article Ranks, Points, and Badges.
