SUMMARY: 
Hachette Book Group is looking for a Senior Manager, Marketing Technology, to support the company’s strategic development of the marketing technology stack, identifying the best available third-party tools to support core marketing functions and working closely with IT on the implementation of tools and development of custom solutions.
The Senior Manager will ensure that marketing teams have the information and capabilities to leverage marketing tools and platforms to their fullest potential. The Senior Manager will serve as the liaison between HBG’s marketing teams and IT, ensuring that IT projects are informed by a full understanding of business requirements and the implementation and rollout of new technology is supported by robust communication and training.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Work closely with HBG’s Marketing Strategy team to develop HBG’s marketing technology roadmap and stay abreast of technology innovations pertinent to marketing
  • Collaborate with the web services team to ensure that website development is informed by business needs and new updates are communicated effectively to the user base
  • Manage the evolution of the consumer marketing toolbox, ensuring that HBG is using an optimal toolset to support social media management, email marketing, sweepstakes and promotions, and web development
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts 
  • Collaborate with the marketing analytics team to ensure that technology projects are informed by robust analytics 
  • Work with IT to ensure that third-party tools are interfacing optimally with internal technology solutions and data processes
  • Provide training and support to the imprint marketing teams on relevant topics and work with key vendors to organize on-site training sessions.  
  • Lead cross-imprint meetings and presentations and ensure that business stakeholders are kept up to date about technology projects 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: 
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology projects and tool implementations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization  
  • Understands the complexity of e-commerce tools and technologies, and how they integrate with other marketing/advertising/analytics systems 
  • Keen interest in the evolving marketing technology landscape to evaluate and implement new solutions to enhance performance and improve ROI.
  • Familiarity with consumer marketing tools such as Braze, Emplifi, Wordpress, Shopify, and Google Analytics, or comparable tools 
  • Proven ability to leverage data to support decision making 
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Must be highly organized and results-driven and take appropriate steps to achieve goals while taking ownership of situations as needed.
  • Lead training sessions for team members on new and existing marketing technologies and tools.
  • Vendor-side experience is a bonus

 

Salary Range (Optional)

The compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. Salary can vary based on a number of factors including skills, experience, and location — talk with your recruiter to learn more. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
