Lifecycle Marketing Team Structure question

Curious if anyone is on a Lifecycle Marketing team specifically that doesn't roll into the broader Marketing org at their company. Where do you sit? Under Product? Design? Would love to get thoughts on what's worked well vs not.

we're under the Marketing deparment buuut have always acted as the bridge between Product/Tech and Marketing. It's a tricky bit ðŸ˜„ A lot of the stuff you do in lifecycle is essentially tied to product, but you also share the same objectives with marketing... how is your org set up?

I am a strong advocate for CRM to be part of the product team as the messages you send should fit the user journey that was planned by product and product design. IAMs for example can be pretty intrusive and interrupting the user journey. Sharing the goals with the product team and rather bridging product and marketing is beneficial. Instead of the other way around where there are marketing goals (often disconnected from product) and trying to align with the product team. I would say that is also depends on the current setup and alignment that happens between those teams.

agree with you as well! We're under of the Marketing org but are also spread across the product teams, so really a hybrid of both
