Decision Based on Email Opens - Canvas

Question

Hi, this may be too basic, but I've tried and failed.

I'm creating a journey in Canvas while they deliver my assets, and in one part of our strategy, they ask me to perform an action based on whether or not the user opens an email (sent in previous steps in the same canvas). I tried to do this with the decision split, but it only lets me do it by segment. Is there a way to do this?

While using opened or not is not a strategy I would recommend (as it is not a reliable indication of engagement), simply add an action path with a suitable delay  to allow them to open the email, set the trigger for group 1 as interact with step then select one of the 3 open options and then then everyone else goes to who did not open.

Keep in mind this runs after the delay you set, if they open after they are already past that steep.
