Canvas Challenge Finale, a Forge Countdown, and August's Champions
Hey Bonfire! π
This month you didn't just talk about building β you showed us, opening up real journeys, real architecture decisions, and real results for the whole community to learn from.
With the Canvas Challenge closing and Forge just weeks away, here's everything worth catching up on before we head into September.
π¨ The Canvas Challenge
The Community Canvas Challenge closed August 31. A huge thank you first and foremost to the creators of the Community Canvas Challenge:
@AnneSchultheis (Director of Loyalty & CRM at Scooter's Coffee, 16X Braze Certified): Anne conceived the idea for this challenge to unite community members, spark practical learning, and demonstrate real-world problem-solving using Braze Canvas.
@AllanHeoFNM (Founder & CEO of For Now Marketing, 18X Braze Certified & 2025 Bonfire Leader of the Year): Allan partnered with Anne to guide and launch the challenge, providing mentorship and championing community engagement every step of the way.
A huge round of applause must also go to the Bonfire members who opened up their builds:
- @AnneSchultheis β QSR Preventing Welcome Offer Fraud With more than 20,000 blocked fraudulent accounts and almost $500,000 in product loss prevention- youβll want to get the notepad and pen out, like I do whenever I get the chance to chat with Anne!
- @vin β Hacking the Braze Canvas. Near-real-time comms for a time-sensitive auctions business, built without leaning on engineering for a custom trigger system.
- @SeyiA β Context Step Use Case: The Monthly Recap. A 30-day inactive-subscriber re-engagement play, built purely to explore what Context Steps can do. (We love a good experiment.)
- @Axel_Cordonnier β From Cart Abandonment to Conversion: A +55.8% Lift with Braze Canvas. Not another reminder sequence β a genuine decisioning journey for recovering driving-course prospects at Ornikar, with the numbers to back it up.
- @greglakatos β Dynamic Content Randomisation Using Canvas Context. A sharp take on a problem most of us have hit: varying creative across touchpoints without wiring up an audience condition for every single variant.
- @Gordon β My version of Spotify Wrapped With a 35% click/interaction rate and an average of 1.5 views per person, this canvas excelled in connecting each listener with a personalized wrapped.Β Β
- @Axel_Cordonnier (YUP 2nd entry, this happened! π₯) β From Static Push to Agent-powered reactivation this entry covers adding a Braze Agent to move from segment β predefined copy, to individual customer context β Agent reasoning β message angle β generated copy.
- @1016_ueda β OMO Canvas Flow with Geofence, Landing Pages, Context Steps and More! This campaign visibly demonstrated that "digital customer behavior directly drives high-value foot traffic back to physical stores. "By converting digital intent into physical store visits, we dismantled organizational silos and created a win-win, bi-directional customer lifecycle. (plus great insight on Audience Path vs. Decision Split)
- @Urvi β Real Money Gaming Loyalty Elevation Engine Using Braze Canvas and Catalogs To keep marketing ops clean and maintainable, all tier perks live in a single Braze Catalog. Using one centralized table rather than being hardcoded into individual email templates, published emails pull perks dynamically via Catalog Liquid tags!
Go leave these folks a comment. Ask them why they made a call the way they did β that's where the real learning lives.
